In this blog, we’ll teach you how to reprogram your subconscious mind using proven 4 proven strategies. By following the tips below, you’ll be able to get rid of the faulty beliefs that are preventing you from reaching your full potential.

Our subconscious is the most powerful and mysterious part of who we are. It is responsible for many of your thoughts, behaviors, and habits. And it can have a powerful impact on your life. If you have negative beliefs or thought patterns holding you back from reaching your goals, it may be time to reprogram your subconscious mind.

Even spending five minutes a day, you can connect with your subconscious, imprint into it, and have extraordinary things happen to you.

Let’s dive in.

What Is Subconscious Programming?

Think of your subconscious mind like a computer program running in the background. It controls much of what you do without thinking about it, like habits, emotions, and reactions. It’s powerful because it’s always working, even when you’re not aware of it.

The subconscious mind stores your beliefs, values, habits, and thought patterns, which all together, form your subconscious programming. These programs are created by the experiences we have had throughout our lives, particularly in childhood. They shape our perceptions of the world, our behavior, and our choices.

The default programming of your subconscious mind comes from your early life experiences, for the most part.

From the time you’re born until about the age of seven, your brain is highly receptive, like a sponge soaking up everything around it. During this time, you learn from your parents, family, and anyone close to you. You also pick up on the social norms, beliefs, and behaviors that are part of your environment.

These early experiences form the foundation of your subconscious programming. They shape how you see the world, how you react to challenges, and what you believe about yourself. As you grow older, other experiences and relationships continue to influence your mind. But those early years are especially impactful.

Subconscious programs can be both positive and negative. For example, a positive subconscious program might be a belief in our own abilities, while a negative program might be a fear of failure or a belief that we are not good enough.

The great news is that the subconscious is flexible, not fixed. It adapts to what you feed it, whether those are thoughts, experiences, or even the things you watch and read.

Reprogramming the subconscious mind means replacing one’s beliefs, habits, and thoughts. This is like updating the software on your computer or phone to make it work better or do new things.

When we do, our life starts to shift.

4 Ways to Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind

1. Visualize What You Want

Repeated mental imagery, or visualization, reprograms your subconscious by embedding new beliefs through emotion. When you see what you want as if you already have it, the powerful emotions it triggers “stamp” your subconscious. These emotions create energy vibrations that attract people, situations, and events on the same frequency. Simply put, the stronger you feel energies like wealth or health, the more you align with and attract them into your reality.

Visualization is simple. Close your eyes and vividly imagine your goal as if it’s already happening. The more details you can bring in, the better. Focus on where you are, what you’re doing, who’s around you, and how it feels to have what you want. For example, if you’re aiming for a new job, feel the pride and excitement of stepping into your new office. The more real the emotions, the more your subconscious will work to align with that reality.

2. Repeat Positive Affirmations Daily

Affirmations are positive statements you repeat to yourself over and over. With repetition, they get embedded in your subconscious mind; your mind starts believing them. For example, if you want to develop confidence, you might repeat to yourself, “I am confident in all that I do.”  Or, if you want to improve your health, a good affirmation may be: “I am healthy and whole in my mind and my body.”

There are three secrets to great affirmations:

  • They are short
  • They don’t use negatives (“I am free” vs “I am not dependent”)
  • They use the present tense (“I am” vs “I will be”)

Repeat your affirmation(s) every day with confidence for two to five minutes and you’ll soon notice a shift happen in your subconscious mind. Your identity will change and your actions and focus will align with it.

3. Meditate to Build Awareness

Meditation helps you notice and change your subconscious habits. With practice, you’ll start to see negative thoughts, beliefs, and emotions as they come up. Once you spot them, you can replace them with positive affirmations and visualizations that match your goals.

If you’re new to meditation, you can use apps to help you get started. Or, you can do it on your own by sitting quietly with your eyes closed for 10 to 20 minutes. Focus on your breath, your thoughts, and how your body feels. Just notice whatever comes up without judging or overthinking. When you’re done, write down what you noticed and any new awareness you’ve gained about your subconscious mind.

4. Journal Like You’ve Already Achieved Your Goals

Journaling is like visualization, but you write it down instead. Journaling helps you figure out exactly what you want and sends clear messages to your subconscious. Think of your subconscious as a garden. Whatever “seeds” you plant—your thoughts and goals—will grow. The clearer and more specific your goals, the easier it is for your subconscious to work toward them.

Each day, write about your goals in detail. Describe what it looks and feels like to achieve them. Focus on emotions like gratitude and excitement, and write as if it’s already happened.

Tips to Accelerate Your Results

1. Consistency is Key

Whatever technique you choose to reprogram your subconscious mind, practice daily. Consistency develops patterns in your subconscious mind that are essential for manifesting. And as James Clear, the author of Atomic Habits, suggests, never skip two days in a row. If you miss a day, get right back on the saddle and carry on. Over time, your subconscious will align with these new patterns of thought, and you’ll start to see your manifestations come to life.

2. Acknowledge Your Success

Notice any tangible evidence that supports your new subconscious beliefs. For instance, if you’re affirming success, celebrate actions like tackling challenging projects, networking, or making progress toward your goals. Acknowledging success in the “real world” reinforces your new beliefs. It provides your subconscious with proof that they’re real, thus solidifying the neural connections where they live in your mind.

3. Be Patient

Changes in the subconscious mind don’t happen overnight. It takes time to overwrite old beliefs and habits. Be patient with yourself and trust the process. Persevere even when negative thoughts tell you this is all for nothing. It is a good idea to give yourself a goal before starting with any of these exercises. For example, decide to do your affirmations 100 times regardless of the results before you even think of giving up.

4. Choose a Positive Environment

Surround yourself with positivity. This includes positive people, books, movies, and keeping a positive mindset yourself. Your environment can greatly influence what you absorb into your subconscious. We want to avoid feeding the negative thoughts you’re trying to replace. So ignore or distance yourself from people who don’t believe you can change and achieve your goals.

5. Remain Mindful

Be aware of your thoughts and feelings. Catching negative thoughts and replacing them with positive ones helps you maintain control over what goes into your subconscious. Meditation is key in creating distance between you and your thoughts. With practice, you’ll be able to recognize negative thought patterns and not identify with them. This will help you keep and nurture the new programs and not default to old behaviors.

How Jim Carrey Used His Subconscious to Manifest Success

In the early 1990s, out-of-work actor Jim Carrey used the power of his subconscious mind to become the famous and successful movie star that he is now. And he did it by writing himself a check. One day, he took out his checkbook, wrote a check for $10 million, and signed it. He wrote “for services rendered” and put it into his wallet.

Every day, he would take out the check and he would look at it. But he wouldn’t just look at it, he would imagine himself receiving this money for a movie. He did this over and over again, every day.

He would also say to himself: “I’m a fabulous actor, everybody wants to work with me, I have lots of movie offers.” This wasn’t true at the time. He was hardly getting any offers at all. But by doing this over and over again, he was reprogramming his subconscious.

Over time, opportunities started opening up. And five years later, he received a check for $10 million for starring in the movie, “Dumb and Dumber”.

Now, you have to understand this in the context of who Jim Carrey was.

His talent as an actor, his comic genius, his work ethic, his determination to succeed, and the nature of the entertainment business, all of these played a part in his success. But what is indisputable is that, by reprogramming his subconscious mind, he began attracting new agents, producers, scripts, and opportunities that made him the success that he has become.

And that’s exactly what you will do when you harness the powers of your subconscious mind. You will attract the opportunities you need to be tremendously successful.

The Subconscious Mind and Manifesting

Everything in the universe is vibrations of energy: buildings, people, and even thoughts.

It seems that buildings are different from trees,  that I’m different from my wife, and that you’re different from your friends. And on one level, that’s true.

But on a quantum level, on a subatomic level, everything is vibrating energy. Everything communicates together in the vibrating web of all reality.

Let me illustrate this.

Imagine you search for a vacation in Greece on Google. For the next couple of weeks, you’ll get advertisements for plane tickets and hotel offers. That’s because the algorithms will know that you’re interested in going to Greece.

The universe works like the algorithms. It is forever monitoring and responding to the energy of who you are. And if you can learn to speak its secret language, you can change the response that it gives you, ie. the things you attract.

What’s that secret language, you ask? It is vibrations.

My John Kehoe vibration of energy brings me my John Kehoe reality. You have a vibration of energy that creates your reality. Science calls it your energy signature.

To manifest, you have to align your energy with the energy of the things you desire.

Success is a vibration of energy. And all your goals, everything that you want to happen in your life, have a specific vibration of energy. And so to manifest, we begin to align with this vibration of energy.

It’s extraordinary. Once we understand this, we can start to imprint into our subconscious whatever it is that we want in our lives. Imagine if your subconscious was working for you 24 hours a day, every day; that’s what it will do!

Our subconscious is our partner in success. All we have to do is connect with it.

FAQ

How Long Does It Take to Reprogram the Subconscious Mind?

Reprogramming your subconscious mind is a gradual process that requires patience and persistence, but the rewards are well worth the effort. By identifying and replacing negative beliefs and thought patterns with positive and empowering ones, you can transform your life and achieve your goals.

The amount of time it takes to reprogram your subconscious mind can vary depending on several factors, such as the depth and intensity of your limiting beliefs, how long you have held these beliefs, and how committed you are to the process of reprogramming.

It’s important to understand that reprogramming your subconscious mind is a gradual process that requires patience, persistence, and consistent effort. It’s not something that can be done overnight or with a quick fix.

Some people may start to see positive changes in their thought patterns and behaviors within a few weeks of consistent effort, while for others, it may take several months or even years.

This is where having a mentor and holding yourself accountable is vital. When you sign up for a training program, you are motivated to complete it. The same is true when you have a mentor: you are committed to showing up because someone is counting on you.

I say this because, for the past 45 years, the people that I’ve seen successfully reprogram their subconscious and excel in life are the same people who stayed committed to my training program and held themselves accountable.

Why Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind?

Reprogramming your subconscious mind is important because it can help you overcome negative thought patterns and limiting beliefs that may be holding you back from reaching your full potential. Our subconscious mind is responsible for a lot of our thoughts, behaviors, and habits, and many of these are formed during our early years and can be deeply ingrained.

If you have negative beliefs about yourself or the world, these can affect your behavior and choices without you even realizing it. For example, if you have a belief that you are not good enough, you may sabotage your own success by not taking risks or trying new things.

By reprogramming your subconscious mind with positive thoughts and beliefs, you can change the way you think and act, and ultimately achieve your goals. Reprogramming your subconscious mind can also help you improve your self-esteem, increase your confidence, and reduce stress and anxiety.

What Are Examples of Faulty Subconscious Programming?

It can be difficult to recognize how your subconscious mind is programmed without your conscious awareness, as these programs often operate beneath the surface of your conscious mind.

However, here are some signs that your subconscious mind may be programmed with faulty beliefs:

  • Repetitive patterns: you repeatedly engage in the same behaviors or make the same choices, even if they don’t serve you well
  • Self-sabotage: you often undermine your own success or happiness
  • Automatic thoughts: negative thoughts that pop up frequently without you consciously choosing them
  • Strong emotional reactions: you have strong emotional reactions to certain situations or events, even if they seem disproportionate to the situation
  • Limiting beliefs: you have limiting beliefs that hold you back from reaching your full potential, such as “I’m not smart enough”, “I’m not good enough” or “I don’t deserve success”

Conclusion

Reprogramming your subconscious mind can be an incredibly powerful tool for bringing about positive transformations in your life. By identifying and replacing negative beliefs and thought patterns with positive and empowering ones, you have the power to truly reshape your life and accomplish your goals.

There are many techniques and tips you can use to reprogram your subconscious mind, such as positive affirmations, visualization, hypnotherapy, surrounding yourself with positive influences, and practicing self-care.

Remember, reprogramming your subconscious mind is a gradual process that requires both patience and persistence. But the rewards that await you are undeniably worth every ounce of effort you put into it. So, take the first step towards positive change today. Start reprogramming your subconscious mind and watch as it begins to manifest incredible transformations in your life.
